Facebook Privacy

I know that I shared this on my Google Reader feed already, but I just went through and implemented the suggestions outlined in 10 Privacy Settings Every Facebook User Should Know. Evidently Facebook has a lot of interesting ways to configure your privacy settings. The article recommends using friend lists as a tag system (since friends can be in multiple lists), which I hadn't thought of before. It makes organizing your friends and then configuring privacy based on tags easy and straightforward.

The Time Traveler's Wife

Good book :)
Now from his breast into his eyes the ache of longing mounted, and he wept at last, his dear wife, clear and faithful, in his arms, longed for as the sunwarmed earth is longed for by a swimmer spent in rough water where his ship went down under Poseidon's blows, gale winds and tons of sea. Few men can keep alive through a big surf to crawl, clotted with brine, on kindly beaches in joy, in joy, knowing the abyss behind: and so she too rejoiced, her gaze upon her husband, her white arms round him pressed as though forever.

Contacts

I had an eye appointment today, and I'm giving contacts a trial run. On the one hand, it's the weirdest feeling in the world... ever. On the other hand, as soon as I put them in my vision was significantly better. It'll take some getting used to, but I think I like it so far. We'll see how different I look :)

Adulthood

How I know I'm slowly becoming an adult: I knocked over our sugar bowl putting away clean dishes today. When I was a kid, I'd probably just have ignored it -- if you didn't see it, then someone else has to clean it up :). But now I had to go and wipe off the whole shelf because man, I don't want ants in my cabinets.
