So I'm not wild about this theme, any suggestions? Where do people go to find cool themes?

So somehow I missed the entire month of July... unfortunate. I won't make any crazy promises about posting, but I do have one that I'm going to try to submit this afternoon sometime :). My goal was at least one post per month, we'll see if I can handle that.

Well, it only took about 5 years, but we've finally got some wedding pictures online. You can either look on Facebook, or check out http://cheilman.ater.org/pics. I'm still messing with Coppermine settings and themes and stuff, so don't be surprised if things get changed around. We got a ton more wedding pictures, but these are the only ones we have scanned currently. I'll try to find some more and get them online.

This is just a test post. I'm setting up Wordbook to cross post blog entries to my Facebook feed. We'll see if all my Facebook friends get sick of seeing my worthless updates. At least they're sporadic!

Update to a newer version of WordPress, let me know if it causes any problems.

There are still a couple of things I'm not really happy with, so I'm going to try to mess with them in this post.

I don't really like how the blockquote looks. And I don't know how to use the 'cite' attribute.

Also, I'd like to be able to add attribution (which I think is different than cite).

Sorry there hasn't been much posted lately, I'm sure both of my readers have noticed the lack :) Don't worry, I've got 3 or 4 drafts in progress that I'll get done RSN. On a totally different note, does anyone know how to identify a song? I've got an .mp3 that I pulled off a old portable mp3 player (from like freshman year in college), and I have no idea what it is. I don't think I knew back then either... all I have is a possible title from the filename, and the song itself. Any suggestions?

Since the music page was the big thing I was working on, I think that I'm going to go live with this site. There are still a bunch of things missing (the about page being foremost), but this is enough to (hopefully) not be embarrassed. Some future projects:

• Finish the about page.
• Finish converting the NDP bidding guide to XML
• Add some pictures (and a picture management system to go with them).
• ...Profit?

I've done a lot of work on my music page. It's got some information about me, and a few songs that I've recorded in my free time. Check it out... whenever I update it I'll be sure to post a notice on here.

Speaking of the music page, boy is web design a pain in the goat. You'd think with such powerful tools as PHP, XML, XSLT, CSS, and all the other junk that exists these things would be easier. In all fairness, I probably couldn't have even thought about doing the things that I did without them, but it seems harder than it should be :).

So how about this theme? It's much calmer, easier on the eyes in my opinion. I'll probably end up finding a different header image, but it's fine for now. I had to tweak the stylesheet a little to make the content links jump out the way I wanted, but I think that I did an okay job. Now to sync up the rest of the site....
